Use the OnLine Expert

This topic describes how to use the OnLine Expert.

Window layout

The OnLine Expert window is divided into toolbar, navigation, and content areas.

Toolbar area

The following icons and tools in the toolbar area help you navigate to and work with topics in the OnLine Expert:

• Home : Displays the first topic in the OnLine Expert.
• Previous : Displays the previous topic in the Table of Contents.
• Next : Displays the next topic in the Table of Contents.
• Send documentation feedback : Creates a new email to provide feedback on the topic.
• Print : Prints the topic to the default printer.
• Search : Searches for topics in the OnLine Expert that contain the specified search terms. You can select Match partial words to search for words that are similar to the search terms.

Navigation area

The tabs on the left side of the window allow you to select a method for finding information.

• Select Contents to display the Contents tab, which contains a hierarchical, expandable list of topics.
  • To expand all folders in the Table of Contents, click .
  • To collapse all folders in the Table of Contents, click .
  • To display topic contents, click a topic name.
• Select Index to display a list of keywords linked to relevant topics. To view topics associated with a keyword, double-click the keyword.

You can click to hide the navigation area. You can click to reopen the navigation area.

Content area

Topic contents are displayed on the right side of the OnLine Expert window.

• Above the topic, a series of hyperlinks (breadcrumbs) identify the topic's parent topics within the Table of Contents. To open a parent topic, click the topic name.
• In a topic, click a hyperlink (colored, underlined words) to display another topic with related information.
• At the end of some topics, a hyperlinked list of related topics is displayed. To open a related topic, click the topic name.

To change the size of the navigation and content areas, point to the line that divides them. When the pointer changes to a double-headed arrow, click and drag the line right or left.

Close the OnLine Expert

The OnLine Expert window is displayed in an Internet browser. To close the OnLine Expert, click the Close button (X) in the upper-right corner of the browser window.
